Oil Collection

Sirona Fuels currently offers free used cooking oil collection services for restaurants and industry throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. We provide cleaning services for used bins and supply new 55 gallon drums or cooking oil dumpsters as needed. Grease trap cleaning is also available.

Certain customers are eligible to participate in our programs in which we provide direct benefits to our customers and their communities for recycling their used cooking oil with Sirona Fuels. We have programs that allow customers to receive direct payments or discounted grease trap service where we recycle their grease. We also have programs in which businesses and institutions can elect to have Sirona Fuels make donations to their local schools when we recycle their used cooking oil.

Sirona recycles used cooking oil collected locally, and produces clean and beyond ASTM quality biodiesel locally. This is an important distinction since our used oil collection and biodiesel production methods are much more efficient and good for the environment compared to other uses for used cooking oil, grease and fats. We depend less on petroleum to produce our biodiesel and we infact use our own Biodiesel to run our collection and distribution trucks, as well as biodiesel generators on site for production of our biofuels. The used yellow grease, fats, grease and oils we collect are not shipped long distances, nor are they kept in the food chain or rendered for animal feed in feedlots. 

Our partner foundation, Sirona Cares, administers this program providing direct benefits to our communities that provide our feedstock – a core principle of our company. We have marketing material available for our partners that participate in these programs, allowing our partners to receive recognition for contributing to their communities.

Sirona’s licensed grease recyclers can keep your restaurant clean of Fats, Oil, and Grease (FOG) regardless of volume. 

What are Grease Traps?

Grease traps are devices placed on kitchen cleaning appliances such as sinks, woks, and any other drains that collect grease. Properly maintained, grease traps help prevent unwanted grease build-up from entering a private building's sewer or municipal waste water system.

What are the requirements for my facility?

  1. A properly functioning grease trap
  2. Use a certified licensed grease hauler
  3. Grease and solids must be removed from your trap a minimum of every 90 days.
  4. Retain receipts and records associated with the maintenance of your grease trap for submittal to your local waste water district.

Sirona offers competitive pricing for its grease trap services for restaurants, businesses, government and nonprofit agencies. Pricing starts at $125 for up to 35 gallons and $75 for each additional trap at the same location.
